根据万事达卡最近发表的报告显示，在加拿大只有大约10%消费使用现金支付，并且这一比例正在下降。约有90%的消费是用非现金方式支付的，这个比例相当可观且在上升。

越来越多加拿大人不再携带纸币和硬币，尽管现金交易仍占总交易数量40%以上。
当然，非现金支付不仅限于信用卡，越来越多企业和零售商加入了移动付款方式，手机钱包占了消费者很大一部分。
根据另外一项调查，大多数消费者78%都知道移动钱包，大约三分之一32%曾经使用过，大约每天有250万加拿大人使用手机支付应用。下面是消费者使用数字钱包一些方式，前五位是贝宝、谷歌钱包、团购、苹果存折、万事达卡等。
